SLEEP, WONDERFUL SLEEP
I’m trying something completely radical.
I am going to try sleeping when I am sleepy. Doesn’t matter what time it
is. Forget this daylight, or there are things to do, or what will everyone
think.
I’m probably going to become completely nocturnal, but so be it. I’m
retired – I can do it.
I had always been dismissive of individuals with insomnia, since it was so easy for me to fall asleep and STAY asleep almost any time I wanted… until I had my hysterectomy in the mid-40s.
Now I’m all-too-familiar with late-night television – that aching and itching feeling of never being completely rested – the sore throb in your brain as it continues to push your body into doing what it isn’t up to.
Yes, sleep meds help… to a point. They put a fog over my first two hours up in the morning. And don’t guarantee that I can make it through the night.
Let’s see what happens.
